Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a qualified Frontend Engineer to join us. You will be responsible for building the ‘client-side’ of our web applications. You should be able to translate our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications that delight our customers.

We expect you to be a tech-savvy professional, who is curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design.

Ultimately, you should be able to create a functional and attractive digital environment for Bnkability, ensuring great user experience.

Our technology

Our application front-end uses the VueJS 2 framework with all client-side rendering and interacts with our back-end servers via a REST API. Bootstrap 4 drives our application layout, and we use TypeScript as our front-end language.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and improve our web application
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Collaborate with Back-end Developer and UX Designer to improve usability
  • Write functional requirement documents and guides
  • Help Back-end developer with coding and troubleshooting
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them into our operations and activities

Must have skills

  • Experience in building complex static and dynamic browser applications, with a demonstrable portfolio of user interface design projects
  • Excellent UI design skills and the ability to translate these into HTML5/CSS. Preferably you will also have strong knowledge of JavaScript, and ideally have worked with TypeScript
  • Experience developing single page applications using a reactive framework (e.g. React, VueJS) and using RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
  • Experience in Test Driven Development and development of front-end unit tests
  • Demonstrable creative and design orientated application to development
  • Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques

Highly desirable skills

  • Strong software engineering skills, including object-oriented design and an understanding of system design patterns (e.g. MVC)
  • Previous experience developing enterprise SaaS
  • Proficient knowledge of modern front-end software build tools (e.g. NodeJS, NPM, SCSS, etc.)

This is a part time role that will turn into a full time role when we have funding.
